Catonsville wasted no time making a statement in the second meeting of the season against rival Lansdowne.

After falling in the first matchup, Catonsville flipped the script in emphatic fashion Friday night, storming out to a 28-10 lead after the first quarter and taking full control with a 40-19 advantage at halftime. The fast start set the tone in what ultimately became a decisive rivalry win.

Senior guard Elijah Barrett led the charge with a dominant all-around performance, finishing with 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Barrett was aggressive from the opening tip, scoring in rhythm and attacking the defense early to spark the first-quarter surge.

Fellow senior guard Gavin Edwards complemented him perfectly, adding 15 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Edwards controlled the tempo throughout the night, creating opportunities for teammates while also applying constant pressure defensively. His activity in the passing lanes helped fuel transition opportunities that widened the gap before halftime.

With a 40-19 lead at the break, Catonsville focused on maintaining discipline and composure in the second half. Despite the rivalry atmosphere, the senior backcourt ensured there would be no letdown. They managed the pace, limited mistakes, and answered any attempts at momentum shifts to close the game out strong.

The win evens the season series between the two rivals after Lansdowne claimed the first meeting. More importantly, it showcased Catonsville’s growth, resilience, and leadership in a high-stakes matchup.

Behind a statement first quarter and steady senior play down the stretch, Catonsville protected home court and secured a rivalry victory that could carry momentum into the remainder of the season.
